Menyapa Sumba is a youth-led community based in Sumba Island that focuses on environmental, educational, and health issues, all grounded in the spirit of inclusivity. Our activities are centered in the districts of East Sumba, Central Sumba, West Sumba, and Southwest Sumba. The establishment of Menyapa Sumba was driven by our concern over the numerous challenges faced by the people of Sumba. The word “Menyapa”, which means “to greet,” reflects our intention to invite others to explore the beauty of Sumba Island while connecting with its people. This creates a complete and meaningful experience of Sumba. Through Menyapa Sumba, we aim to multiply the positive impact of every individual involved, forming a movement that brings greater benefit to the community.

Skill Up Foundation will hold the EducationForAll event in Sumba, Sumba on August 6-19, 2025. Behind the beauty of nature and culture in Sumba, there are challenges that we still need to overcome together. In this event, we will visit several villages, namely Laindatang village, Tanggedu village, Prainatang Customary Village, and several other locations. These locations are still left behind and are thick with local customs. These areas have uneven internet access, do not yet know the importance of continuing education to a higher level, have a low literacy rate, and have limited educators.
EducationForAll aims to improve the quality of education in Sumba, starting with 3 schools. Not only that, we also explore and learn more about the culture of Sumba.
We will hold many educational and interactive activities in Sumba to achieve this common goal. In addition, we also open opportunities for friends who want to donate in the form of money or goods. We believe that our efforts and assistance can help children in Sumba to achieve their dreams.
